“Battle In Space: The Armada Attacks” trailer drops!!! (and we react!!)

The cheetah and I were staring at the snow falling this afternoon. We were counting the snowflakes when we heard a ping from our email. We opened it up and saw that our new pal Danny G. had sent us a “top secret” press release from Uncork’d about the new sci-fi anthology movie “Battle In Space: The Armada” which is dropping on 12 January 21 on these platforms:
iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Xbox, Vudu, Dish Network and all major cable providers and also On Demand.

The press release is as follows:

Star Trek Discovery’s Doug Jones faces a Battle in Space this January!

“A series of action-packed sci-fi shorts, Battle in Space: The Armada Attacks features the work of Sanjay F. Sharma, Toby Rawal, Scott Robson, Andrew Jaksch, Lukas Kendall, and Luis Tinoco. Each film, though a separate story, includes a wrap-around through line.
In 2420, after aliens and powerful space wizards have enslaved human villages, a group of resistance fighters organize a counterattack against their alien overlords and launch an armada of spacecraft in a battle for supremacy in space.
In addition to Jones (“Star Trek : Discovery”, Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth), the cast also includes Erik Palladino, Douglas Tait, Trip Hope, Jordu Schell, Linda Weinrib, Toby Rawal, Tom Farrah, Tom Madden, Declan Churchill Carter, Alexis Watt, and Philip Cristian Classen.”

But wait!!! Danny also sent us the trailer to look at and so we shall……

Whew….I gotta say that “Battle In Space” looks amazing effects wise, the battles all look very pro and very big budget.  Its looks to be a lot of fast action as well which is good but having hardly any actor speak is a little concerning. I mean who doesn’t love a good dogfight in space but anthologies rise and fall with their stories.
It would have been a tad more engaging by sharing the plots a bit more because all the action scenes all look like they could be in one segment instead of four and a wraparound.
The cast is light of starpower but that isn’t a concern it just means more opportunity for the unknown cast to shine a little brighter and we’re all about discovering new faces!! Having a respected sci-fi/horror actor like Doug Jones does add some gravitas to “Battle”.
Overall,I’m hoping that Uncork’d will do well with this and “Battle In Space” lives up to its trailer.
