Have Cheetah,Will View #531 – “The Wait” (2023)

The Inner Circle

Its 10:59 am
hazy

I was pleasantly surprised when I got a ping from one of my favorite people in the world in actress Kelly Goudie-Price. She sent me a link to her newest film “The Wait” and I was quite excited to check it out.
The cheetah and I settled in to watch this short which was written, acted and directed by Alex Butler.

“The Wait” is set in a dystopian world where an outbreak has occurred and the survivors are coping the best they can.
It here that we meet Percy (Alex Butler) who walks to the edge of some woods, you can see by the gear he is carrying that he has been doing this for quite a while. He has a table, blanket, snacks and a bottle of Scotch…….and a rifle.
Percy sits and waits every day from the morning til the late afternoon, then…

Have Cheetah,Will View #111 – “From Hell It Came” (1957)

The Inner Circle

It’s 11:04 pm

It wasn’t until I was writing our review for “ “Maneater”” that I realized we had barely watched any “creature features” outside of ““Jurassic City”” and “ “Terror Birds”“. I admit,I love me some creature features,be it dinosaur, terror birds or a wendigo….the sillier the better. So I reached out to our undercover informant at Warner Brothers Archives and asked him if he has anything up his sleeve in terms of just terrifying creatures.
He said “Wasn’t “Maneater” enough for you?” I then sent him a picture of the cheetah’s right paw and he said “I got just what you two need!!” And that is how we got to watch the classic creature feature “From Hell It Came”.

Holy crow…..where to start? A small group of American scientists are on a Polynesian island tracking fallout from a nuclear test gone screwy 1,500 miles away…

Have Cheetah,Will View #530 – “13 Seconds” (2023)

The Inner Circle

It’s 6:34 pm
sunny and hazy

So I was working on securing some new guests for “8 Questions with…..” when I got message from film director Dazza King who said he had a couple of new short films to look at.
Well being that the cheetah and I are two of his biggest fans of his work,we went straight away to watch them.
The film we looked at first was “13 Seconds” and oh boy, does it start with a powerful question….”If someone kills the one you love,is it a sin to kill them or is it justice”?

The film opens up with a voice stating he has 13 seconds to say goodbye and then we see two men in a small bathroom. One is being tortured through various means.
The voice continues, saying he is a honest man, that he has only lied twice in his life.
We find out…

Have Cheetah,Will View #458 – “Dead Dicks” (2019)

The Inner Circle

Its 7:38 pm
9 days coffee free

Okay,I want to go on record in saying this is the WORST title to a film we have reviewed here. Now that I got that off my chest….let the review start.

Art1

I wasn’t expecting anything from our friend Ray over at Artsploitation Films so getting “Dead Dicks”was a complete surprise. Being that they bring us some truly outstanding films from all over the world like “We” and “Luciferina“,I checked to see where “Dicks” came from and saw it came from the Great White North, meaning Canada. Despite the name of the film,I was curious so I grabbed the cheetah and settled in….

The film starts off with a very disturbing suicide scene and as the audience is adjusting to what they have watched,we see a figure cut across the dead person sitting in a chair…..We meet Becca (Jillian…

Have Cheetah,Will View #405 – “The Curtain” (2017)

The Inner Circle

Its 2:55 pm
cold/overcast

The cheetah and I had a GREAT year of watching several outstanding short films in 2019.
We wanted to start 2020 off with a bang and as we sorted out a few potential films to debut here,we sent out a follow-up request to a film we had been following since 2018 and that was “The Curtain”. We had heard about this film from its directorCrystal Lowe when she was filming it and had requested a chance to review it. But short films are actually harder to aquire for viewing then feature films because they often go from post-production straight into the festival circuit and can spend up to a year doing festivals before the general public gets a chance to see it IF its made available.
T   his is what happened to “The Curtain“,it hit the film festivals where…

Have Cheetah,Will View #110 – “Surfacing” (2014)

The Inner Circle

It’s 5:49 pm

When Dollar Tree had their last DVD sale, they featured quite a few more major studio titles then they usually do. Most of the times,we see a ton of direct to DVD releases or a ton of small indie releases. I have gotten quite a few fun and unexpected gems for a Dollar Tree sale.
But as mentioned this sale was full of “Rush Hour 3” and “Spider-Man 3” type of releases as well as a smattering of newer releases like “Mitty” and “Shark Night”. Fun stuff and actually titles you don’t see out in the wild unless you are at a yard sale (or boot sale). Finding any indie films took a little more effort to find as I went to three different Dollar Trees in search of these movies.

Like “Wet Bum”,which was later re-titled “Surfacing”. This, like just about every indie release I get are complete…

Have Cheetah,Will View #131 – “Gamera vs. Guiron” (1969)

The Inner Circle

It’s 2:52 pm

Gamera5

Just when all hope was lost for a white Christmas,we are getting a snowstorm on Christmas’s Eve. The snow is falling fast and furious. I couldn’t think of a better Christmas Eve movie to watch then a Gamera movie. I got this movie years ago when I bought a couple of Public Domain packaged movies. Of course I had seen Gamera movies as a youngster, they used to show them on a pair of Creature Feature TV shows on our local TV stations. While the vast majority of us fanboys preferred Godzilla and Jet Jaguar,I always had a soft spot for the flying turtle who loved kids.
Gamera films were made in Japan by the Daiei Film Studios and were made as an answer to Toho’s immensely popular Godzilla franchise. While never gaining as much popularity as Godzilla,Gamera has earned a loyal following throughout the years.

In this…

Have Cheetah,Will View #348 – “Arctic” (2019)

The Inner Circle

Its 9:26 pm
almost dark

When I went to my local Family Video store recently,I picked up two films…..one was “White Chamber” and the other one was the movie we’re talking about today, the survival drama “Arctic” which stars the excellent Mads Mikkelsen. As with “White Chamber” I got “Arctic” solely on Mikkelsen’s name only. While he was wasted in “Dr. Strange”,I had been introduced to his acting in a IFC Films movie called “The Salvation” which was amazing.  This is one of those films despite knowing nothing about it,you just know is going to be great…..right??

The film opens as we see Overgard (Mikkelsen) is seen digging a trench with a pole. Its very hard work because he is in a remote area of the Arctic. His watch goes off and he stands up and leaves the trench and at the point the camera draws back to see Overgard has…

Have Cheetah,Will View #71 – “Shazam! – The Live Action Series” (1974)

The Inner Circle

It’s 11:44 pm

As many of you know (except for my UK blogging pals) I am full-fledged fanboy.
I love comics,sci-fi,pulp heroes, superheroes, fantasy, creature features. I have been a fanboy for 40 years.  When I was growing up,we had a lot of superhero cartoons but live action shows were very rare. We had “The Adventures of Superman” from the 1950s and of course the classic Batman series with the late Adam West.
For some reason,I never saw the The Green Hornet show other then the two parter that they ran with Batman show. By now you’re getting the picture, there wasn’t live action superhero shows, well this until 1974 when “Shazam!” debuted on Saturdays on CBS’s Saturday morning line-up.
Each episode started with the following narrative:

Have Cheetah,Will View #527 – “Blood Claws” (2016)

The Inner Circle

It’s 6:46 am
cloudy/chilly

Greetings!!! Hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for summer. Since I posted last,I dicovered that WordPress had unfollowed me from several of my favorite bloggers here. I am thinking that since I have been here FAR less then I should, that my blog was in their eyes inactive.
Well just to let folks know,I am here and kicking and have no plans of going anywhere. Now normally whenever I post here, its a transfer from my YouTube channel and its often months old.
I decided that my newest review needs to go up right away as I feel (and so does Paladin) we needed to share “Blood Claws” with you. Why “Blood Claws”? Why that would be telling!! I think you should zip on over and catch our review and then leave a comment on how daring and dashing the cheetah and I were in…
